The Skull Atlas, 3D Interactive Atlas of Skull Osteology with Cranial Nerves, is a revolutionary tool for the learning and teaching of skull anatomy. The study of anatomical structure and function is a core component in the training of health professionals and in other related disciplines such as anthropology. As a consequence of dramatic and continuing advances in computer graphics, together with innovative CT scanners, and reconstruction and visualization programs, it is possible to construct three-dimensional, stereographic visualizations of anatomical structures that represent a revolutionary alternative to traditional learning resources such as diagrams, bench-top models and cadavers. This Atlas represents such an alternative and has been designed to facilitate the understanding of complex three-dimensional skull morphology. As a learning tool, the Skull Atlas is dramatically better than having a skull in one’s hand. Every bone can be turned off and on, allowing the user to build a skull bone by bone. The cranial nerves, sinuses and inner ear structures can be seen in their respective positions—and in stereo—relative to other structures of the head.
